Avid introduced and started shipping new editors and also released the new version x.8.3 for the existing software this week. The following editors now officially support the import of Sony XDCAM EX 35Mpbs MXF files including 1920x1080i and 1280x720p. The new Avid architecture is optimized for highly responsive real-time editing using the latest generation of HD codecs, including XDCAM EX.
The file base workflow process for Avid/EX is exactly the same with 25Mbps, meaning the users would use EX Clip Browsing software to unwrap MP4 files and re-wrap to MXF so Avid can import the files.
